THE DIRECTOR
Kyle Garrison Shawell is a multi-talented performer, choreographer, and educator.
He brings together knowledge, expertise, and experience in diverse movement styles. Shawell has been a teaching artist for Charlotte Ballet (formerly North Carolina Dance Theatre) and North Carolina Blumenthal Performing Arts Center and a dance educator for the Governor's Award-winning Janice Wyatt Summer Arts Institute at Delta State University in Cleveland, MS.
He has taught at Coker College, Davidson College, and several Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Presently Shawell is a dance educator for Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools at Charlotte East Language Academy, where he teaches dance for K-5 students.
As a Lecturer of Dance, Shawell taught modern, jazz, hip-hop, musical theater, training, and conditioning for several years at Winthrop University. Currently, Kyle is working on new choreography for TGE and teaches jazz dance at Charlotte Ballet Academy and studios in the surrounding area.
